Assam – Meghalaya, 5 Nights/6 Days

Itinerary

• Day 1

  Guwahati (ASSAM)

  After breakfast transfer to Guwahati airport.

• Day 2

  Guwahati – Kaziranga National Park (ASSAM)

  Arrive at Guwahati airport and transfer to Kaziranga (250 Kms / 5 hrs drive approx). Check in Hotel. Overnight in Kaziranga. Kaziranga National Park: It is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds. Note: Please be informed that elephant ride, jeep safari, and forest entry are regulated and controlled by the forest dept. Govt. of Assam. We do not have any control over the booking of elephant seats and entry by jeeps.

• Day 3

  Kaziranga – Shillong (ASSAM – MEGHALAYA)

  After breakfast drive to Shillong (290 km / 7 hrs drive approx). Check in at hotel. Overnight in Shillong.

• Day 4

  Kaziranga National Park (ASSAM)

  After breakfast, enjoy the Park on a Jeep. Evening visit tea garden and local villages. Overnight at Kaziranga.

• Day 5

  Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong (MEGHALAYA)

  After breakfast check out hotel and drive to Cherrapunjee (60 km/2 ½ hrs). Check in hotel and promptly visit Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. After lunch at Cherrapunjee, visit Thankarang Park, Koh Ramhah. Drive back to Shillong for overnight halt. Note: Most of the waterfalls are dry during the winter season.

• Day 6

  Shillong – Guwahati (MEGHAYALA – ASSAM)

  After breakfast drive to Guwahati (110 Kms / 3 ½ hrs drive). Check in hotel. Later visit Kamakhya temple - considered the most sacred and oldest of the 51 Shakti peethas on earth. Also, visit Sankardev Kalakhetra or an evening river cruise on direct payment. Overnight at Guwahati.
